SETTLE Family History

Robert Roland SEATTLE born on July 11, 1810 in Gateside, Cartmel Parish, England. He moved to Nova Scotia, Canada, and his last name became SETTLE.

Martha GASTON and Judson SETTLE married in Nova Scotia.  Judson's obituary, in the Halifax Evening Mail, 30 Dec 1907 read: 

The death of Judson Settle, blacksmith, at Cole Harbour, took place on Saturday morning, after lingering illness. Mr Settle is survived by his wife, who was formerly a Miss Gaston, three sons and two daughters - Fred, who lives at home, and Rupert and Clyde, residing in tile northwest, Mrs Butler, who also resides near Edmonton, in. the west, and Mrs Alfred Stewart (sic), of Dartmouth,
Mr Settle was a man about 60 years of age, and took a prominent part in the affairs of Woodlawn Methodist Church. The interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, and the services will be conducted by the Rev. J Hale.

Three of Judson and Martha's five children came to Alberta. These were Eugenie, Clyde, and Rupert. I am a granddaughter of Rupert's son Jack.
