Inside the Clerk's Residence

The Clerk's residence at the provincial historic site is fairly simply furnished, in the style of the 1890s. The Hudson's Bay Company would provide clerk's with the stoves but then the clerk's would have to bring the rest of the furniture themselves. Imagine hauling all your belongings in a Red River cart! Some of the furniture, of course, would be made locally. The sideboard in this room is representative of the locally produced furniture.
