From the Smoky Lake Signal, Wednesday, September 17, 1980. Ed Yakimowich - New UGG Agent UGG's new elevator agent for Smoky lake is 36 year old Ed Yakimowich. Mr. Yakimowich has spent eight years in the business as elevator manager in the village of Derwent, 23 miles north of Vermillion. Married for 17 years, both Ed and his wife Dale come from farm backgrounds in the St. Paul area. Before Ed got on with UGG he worked on a cattle ranch for seven and a half years in the Marwayne area. Smoky lake is much bigger town than Derwent. That should mean more chances for the children, a son 16 and daughters 14, 12 and 11 to find jobs in the years to come, said Dale. Their UGG supplied house is newer and smaller and that's meant spending the first few weeks in town building bedrooms into the basement for the kids. As soon as there's time it's camping, fishing and big gaming hunting for the Yakimowich's. During the past Sunday's he's had a chance to try catching perch at the river and found plenty. Their usual fair is taking the family hard top tent trailer and 12 ft. aluminum boat to the lakes of the weekend and in winter Ed plays Old Timer Hockey. Return to the Smoky Lake Grain
