Clerks in charge

1864 - 66 George Flett

According to the Peter Erasmus the Flett's helped contribute towards the first Christmas celebration the McDougalls held.

1866 - 72  Philip Tait

According to the book Mission Among the Buffalo, Mr. Tait's daughter travelled with the McDougalls when Mr. McDougall was taking his daughters back East to go to school.

It was during Tait's employment that smallpox came to Victoria Settlement.

1877 - 79   William Brereton 

In 1892 William Brereton got the job hauling mail between Fort Saskatchewan and Victoria Settlement. (see source)

1888 - 89    Francis D. Wilson

Mr. Wilson also ran the post office for a while at the same time, likely out of the clerk's quarters.

1889 - 92   Charles N. Garson

An inspection in '89 records the following about Charles Garson: 

"and the present Clerk in charge, who is less educated than his predecessor, finds great difficulty in making up the accounts. It would be well if the Accountant at Edmonton would pay a visit to this Post and put the accounts on a simple footing. The expense accounts, and accounts of the Outposts especially, should be more carefully kept."

1893 - 97 George Kennedy.
