Smoky Lake and Area Graveyards

Picture by James Knockleby.Webmaster's note: I have always had a fascination with graveyards. My father used to take me up to Victoria Park Cemetery before it was reclaimed and we'd dig through the bush to find Ella Sutton's gravestone. When they first cleared the bush away, I was upset with that. Maybe an interest in graveyards is a bit of a morbid thing, but I think its not just people buried there, its stories, and I want to unearth some of the stories behind the graves.

There are many, many more beautiful graveyards in the area. Unfortunately, the webmaster's have not yet had time to capture any of the images or stories from other graveyards yet. If you have information about any of the graveyards, that you would be willing to share, please contact Christy.
