Seeseeb Mamenuwartum  (Jessie Joyful)

Mrs. Steinhauer

Jessie Joyful was Swampy Cree, and would have been a great assistant to her husband at his mission. While at Rossville Mission, she would have learned much from the other missionaries there, and been expected to teach various skills such as knitting, and creating European style clothing. (Mabindisa 417)

Mabindisa records that once while Rev. Steinhauer was away hunting buffalo, Mrs. Steinhauer fell seriously ill and had to be treated by the native doctors. (425)

She died in 1910, at age 92.
