Peter Erasmus

Peter Erasmus was a trapper, an interpreter, a school teacher and many, many other things. He worked for Rev. Thomas Woolsey, and George McDougall. He witnessed the signing of Treaty No. 6 and the 1885 Rebellion. He died at age 97, in 1931.

His oldest son, James (Jim), was born at Whitefish Lake, and married Jemima Norm at age 26. He lived on his dad's River Lot No. 11 before filing for River Lot No. 17 on January 27, 1906. In 1910 he sold River Lot No. 17 and bought his dad's lot. He died in 1933, and his wife in 1962. Their children were Lewis and Francis, Olena and Irene, and two adopted sons Clifford and Peter.
